Brew Log

About our Beer:

  • Brewed at our farm-based microbrewery in Chimacum

  • With Certified Organic grain varieties we grow in the valley

  • Traditionally floor malted in our barn-- a slow, hand turned method intended to build complex malt character in the barley

  • We'll release small batch variations weekly, batch dated by month/day brewed

  • With homegrown variations on ales and lagers

  • Our aim is an unfiltered, untampered brew offering the flavors of these fields

  • Grown and malted for you by 4th generation WA grain farmer, field worker and beer lover Keith Kisler

  • Malted and brewed by Sam Dressler, raised nearby in Quilcene and trained in beercraft at many a woodsy, logging-road campfire kegger.

  • Self distributed for now, until we find someone else to do it!

Our very first official release…yay yay!

Cloud Auger Pale Ale

Brewed 3-29-24

Dry, hop forward. Chimacum-grown, organic floor-malted barley, with a handful of our local, organic raw oats and raw wheat. Light bodied, with a round, soft mouthfeel. Pale straw color. Might make you think of melon and citrus.

*An "auger" is a corkscrew shaped tube that transports the grain from combine to bin. We re-named this one after the ‘Hazy & Harrowing’ came it’s fuller expression as an IPA, see below.

Grain Hopper IPA

Brewed 4-12-24

Chimacum-style IPA, unfiltered but not hazy. Brewed with our organic, Chimacum-grown, floor-malted Talisman barley. Hopped with Mosaic, for that backbone of floral and citrus, and with Nelson Sauvin, for the white wine allusions and a memory of minerals. Light straw color, medium body.  We grow, malt and brew this beer! *A “Grain hopper” is the tank on the combine that holds the harvest.

Hazy & Harrowing IPA

Brewed 4-26-24

Chimacum-grown, organic floor-malted Talisman barley, with a creamy, smooth body due to a healthy amount of our organic local oats and raw wheat. Medium straw color. Bittered with Azacca and dry hopped with Citra and Nelson Sauvin for deeper layers. Finish is bright grapefruit and juicy melon.
